Thursday 12/29

7:15 a.m. – To Troy Sidney Rd. to assist Medics. A man in his early 30’s was pronounced dead by Troy EMS.

12:05 p.m. – Traffic stop in the Speedway lot on W. Market St. The vehicle had expired registration, and the driver was under suspension. Her passenger had an active warrant from Indiana for larceny. The passenger was placed under arrest and taken to the incarceration facility. The driver was cited for driving under suspension. The vehicle was released to a valid driver.

3:38 p.m. – To the YMCA for a report of an assault. A man reported that he was playing basketball with some of his friends against another team and that there was a lot of pushing and shoving during the game. He said that he called one of the players on the opposing team an unkind name and the other player punched him in the face several times. He had an open laceration below his left eye and his lip was split open. The opposing player said that he felt threatened when the RP called him a name. He had scratches and a cut across the knuckles of his right hand. He was cited for assault. The RP was taken to the hospital by his mother for treatment.

4:58 p.m. – To Troy-Sidney Rd. A woman reported that her deceased husband’s family was at her home and was removing his property while she was gone. The man’s son said he was looking for his father’s financial information so he knew what he had to take care of. He was advised of the criminal aspect of how he went about this and was advised of the proper way to handle it. He was advised that all property and debt fall upon the spouse in this situation. Another relative had taken a safe and a box, but had returned them. They were warned about their activities and left without further incident.

8:50 p.m. – Traffic stop on 25A near Lytle Rd. The driver had an expired license, and so was the vehicle’s registration. She was cited for both violations and released to a valid driver.

Friday 12/30

2:54 p.m. – To Sayers Rd. A woman reported that her daughter was supposed to be on an overnight church youth group trip, but she learned that the group never went on a trip. She wanted her daughter charged with being unruly.

8:51 p.m. – To Dye Mill Rd. Deputies were advised that Joseph Flory, who had an active arrest warrant, may be at that address. Deputies found Flory at that address and took him into custody without incident. He was taken to the Miami County Jail.

Saturday 12/31

12:47 a.m. – Traffic stop on Water St. at Adams St. The passenger was found to have an active warrant from Franklin County. He was arrested on the warrant and taken to the Miami County Jail.

2:45 a.m. – Traffic stop on Drury Lane at Madison St. The driver was cited for a stop sign violation and OVI. The vehicle was released to a sober, valid driver.

11:27 p.m. – Traffic stop on Brukner Dr. The driver was cited for expired registration.

Sunday 1/1

11:37 a.m. – To West Side Auto Wash for a report of found property. An employee turned over a vehicle’s registration sticker. The owner was notified that the sticker could be picked up at the Sheriff’s office. It was placed into property.

Monday 1/2

12:41 p.m. – To the West Central Rehab WC for a report of juvenile inmates passing prescribed medications to each other. The evidence was collected and will be sent to the Regional Crime lab for analysis.

7:40 p.m. – Traffic stop on Polecat Rd. at Piqua-Troy Rd. The vehicle had made two marked lanes violations. The driver said that he was looking for his phone. The deputy discovered that the driver’s license had expired. He was cited for marked lanes and expired operator’s license. The vehicle was towed and the driver was transported to his home.

11:14 p.m. – Traffic stop on I-75 at the 74-2 mile marker. The driver was found to be under suspension, was cited and released to a valid driver.

Tuesday 1/3

2:26 a.m. – Traffic stop in the 400 block of W. Canal St. The driver was charged with a stop sign violation and OVI.

12:28 p.m. – To the 8000 block of St. Rt. 41 for a welfare check. Deputies had received a report that an RV was behind the residence and that children were living in it and were living in unsanitary conditions. Deputies spoke with the owner and inspected the RV. It had adequate living conditions and the children appeared to be in good health. All information was passed along to the Health Department.

1:36 p.m. – To Creekwood Dr. for a report of criminal damaging. A man reported that there was damage to his privacy fence.

1:59 p.m. – To the Miami County Jail for a report of vandalism. Jail administration reported that an inmate had damaged jail property and asked that he be charged. The inmate was charged with vandalism.

1:45 p.m. – To the 3100 block of N. County Rd. 25A for a report of a man and woman walking southbound on the roadway. They appeared to be arguing and the woman was walking in the roadway. No further information was provided.

4:02 p.m. – A Covington woman came to the Sheriff’s Office to report that she was being harassed on the phone by her father and his wife. She asked that they be advised not to contact her. The father and wife were so advised.

4:41 p.m. – To Lefevre Rd. for a report of criminal damaging. The case is pending.
