The Troy Trojan Hockey team was playing at Hobart Arena for the last time in the regular season and were taking on the Aviators of Sycamore in a league match up. This night was special for four seniors that were playing their last regular season game in front of the their home fans and families,

The first period started with all four seniors on the ice, Troy Moore at defense, Tyler Hess at left wing, AJ Noll at center and Doug Eardly at right wing. Doug still had his cast on his arm, but dressed and was on the ice for the drop of the puck, but skated directly to the bench once the puck was dropped.

The Aves scored at the 3 minute mark in the first to take the lead. Prestyn Hoefler scored with the assist going to AJ Noll at the 6:12 mark in the first to tie it up. Tyler Hess scored an unassisted shorthanded goal 2 minutes later to give the Trojans the lead for good. Hess scored again with 2:40 left in the first with the assist going to Hoefler to make it a 3-1 game. Noll scored with 31 second left in the first to give Troy the 4-1 lead. The assist went to Hoefler.

The second was back and forth until Nate Uhlenbrock scored as he buried a Hess and Charlie Ryan pass.

Sycamore scored a minute later to make it a 5-2 game at the end of the second period.

In the third period the Troy seniors took over the game. Noll scored just 1 minute into the third with the assist going to Moore. This goal was significant because this goal was number 94 for Noll’s career. This set a new Troy High School record for the most goals scored in a career. But, Noll wasn’t done yet. He scored a shorthanded goal on his next shift hitting a dinger in the top corner with the assist going to Hoefler. Noll scored again a few minutes later on a power play for his fourth of the night, with the assist going to Uhlenbrock. Troy gave up a power play goal to make it a 8-3 Troy lead. With less than 2 minutes in the game. Moore scored with the assist going to Ryan to make it a 9-3 final.

Caleb Mangas was in the goal and stopped 8 of the 11 shots.

Noll had 4 goals and 1 assist. Hess had 2 goals and 1 assist. Hoefler had 1 goal and 3 assists. Uhlenbrock and Moore each had 1 goal and 1 assist. Ryan had 2 assists.

Troy Girls Basketball - Troy knocked off Trotwood last week 34-26, using a solid third quarter to earn the victory. Bailey Hess led the way with nine points for the Trojans, while Kayla Niswonger added seven, and Sierra Besecker scored six.

On Saturday, Troy nearly knocked off second place Butler, only to fall just short 38-35.

Besecker led the way for Troy with a big day, scoring 17 points.

Troy Christian Boys Basketball - Luke Dillahunt scored 15 points to lead Troy Christian, but it wasn’t enough as the Eagles lost to Houston on Saturday night 55-42. Houston used a solid third quarter to shut down the Eagles to four points leading the way to the win.

Chase Hayden added nine points for Troy Christian, while Seth Wynne added eight and James Anderson scored six.
