Monday, April 25

9:41 a.m. – To the Miami County Fairgrounds for a report of criminal damaging. A man reported that someone had broken out some windows of his construction equipment. He said his company was claring trees on the property. He requested a report for insurance purposes.

12:17 p.m. – To Westwood Dr. for a report of identity theft. A man reported that he was notified by Best Buy that someone tried to open an account in his name. The merchant requested a police report.

Thursday, April 28

10:56 p.m. – To the Miami County Jail for a report of an assault. An inmate was assaulted and had to be transported to the hospital. He refused to cooperate with the deputy, saying that he would tell what happened if he would be released from jail. He had a broken nose, a laceration to his left shin, several lacerations to his scalp and needed 10 stitches near his left eye. Other inmates in the area said they didn’t hear or see anything.

Friday, April 29

9:17 a.m. – To 2nd St. at the request of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office to check for two individuals with warrants from their county. One subject was located and taken into custody.

11:37 a.m. – To 3rd St. for a report of a man not breathing. The victim was confirmed DOA.

Saturday, April 30

3:08 a.m. – Traffic stop on County Rd. 25A at Eldean Rd. The driver was arrested for OVI.

8:00 p.m. – To the JDC. A corrections officer gave an inmate his medication, and the inmate was mad that he was not awakened for his snack. The inmate took off his shirt and threw a shoe at the officer. The officer pushed the inmate against a wall and the two tumbled to the ground and a scuffle ensued. The officer was punched and scratched. The inmate was charged with assault.

11:57 p.m. – To the Miami County Fairgrounds for a report of a theft. A man reported that the door to his storage room was kicked open and several items were taken. The case is still under investigation.

Sunday, May 1

11:09 p.m. – To Redbud Dr. A man reported that his daughter had taken his vehicle without his residence. While the deputy was enroute, the man called back and said that she had returned. He said that she had driven to her boyfriend’s home and he wanted her charged. He said that she was under house arrest. The daughter was taken into custody, transported to the Juvenile Detention Center and incarcerated.

Monday, May 2

3:48 a.m. – To State Rt. 202 for a report of an 83-year-old man unresponsive and not breathing. Troy Medics were already on scene. After life saving measures were attempted, he was pronounced DOA.
