A former area soccer coach pleaded no contest to two felony counts of sexual battery involving a former teenage player as part of a plea deal with Miami County prosecutors.

Jeffrey Walden, 45, now of Knoxville, Tenn., was found guilty March 3 in countyCommon Pleas Court.

Prosecutors agreed to recommend a two-year sentence on each charge at sentencing April 14. The recommendation is for concurrent sentences. Prosecutors also agreed to not pursue other charges involving the victim.

Walden was accused of sexual conduct with a girl beginning in 2007 when she was  15 and continuing until April 2011.

Troy police said he was a coach of traveling  teams and at one time coached a team in Brookville schools.

According to court documents, Walden will be designated a Tier III sex offender, requiring lifetime registration with address verification with the sheriff in the county where he lives or works.
