Chris Cook, Miami County health commissioner since 2011, is leaving at the end of April to take a new job as executive director of Rocking Horse Community Health Center in Clark County.

Cook resides in Clark County with his wife and twin daughters.

He has been with the Miami County health district since 2002. He worked first as a sanitarian doing inspections of restaurants, schools, grocery stores and swimming pools.  He then was involved in smoking ban cases and coordinated the department team’s response to the H1N1 flu in 2009.
