Heritage Ohio is proud to announce 2013 certification of Troy Main Street and the City of Troy as an accredited National Main Street Community. Troy became an Ohio Main Street Program in 2004, after undergoing a rigorous application procedure, and since continues to revitalize its historic downtown.

Frank Quinn, director of preservation, completed the evaluation. “Troy’s program—its volunteer leaders and its staff—continue to notch successes in its effort to fully revitalize its downtown. Troy Main Street annually raises the bar for success, and continues to achieve it,” commented Quinn. “The Gentlemen of the Road planning and logistics was a monumental undertaking, and I’ve heard nothing but high praise for the job TMS did. That’s impressive. And, their board members are true leaders in the revitalization initiative, investing their own time and money in downtown revitalization efforts.”

“We are delighted to receive accreditation for 2013 from Heritage Ohio.” notes Karin Manovich, executive director of Troy Main Street, Inc. “It was a banner year for our organization, and we are grateful for the volunteers and community partners whose assistance contributed to this distinction.”

Troy Main Street is being recognized as proficient in the 10 criteria as set by the National Main Street Center. Criteria stipulate that an accredited program must have an active board and committees, historic preservation ethic, comprehensive work plans, and paid professional staff, among others. This designation is a testament to the hard work and commitment of the Troy Main Street board of directors, staff, and volunteers.
