The Troy Foundation Distribution Committee has awarded the city $100,000 for development of the baseball fields planned for land being added to Paul G. Duke Park.

Mayor Mike Beamish announced the gift during city council’s Dec. 21 meeting.

The committee also has awarded $30,000 to the Miracle League field project.

“Aren’t we blessed to have a foundation that cares so much about our community that the distribution committee is willing to give us that kind of funds to help us spur that development,” Beamish said.

Also during the meeting, Beamish and Council President Marty Baker presented plaques to departing law director Jim Livingston, departing auditor John Stickel and Councilman at large Alan Clark, who served six, two-year terms.
