Andrea Prenger of St Patrick’s elementary school in Troy won the Lions Club District Peace Poster Contest. The contest is sponsored annually by the Troy Lions Club in several area schools. This year’s contest theme was “Share Peace.” Andrea’s poster won the competition at St. Patrick’s and Peace Poster Winnerthen went on to win the District competition. She was honored at the Lions District Convention recently held in Bellefontaine, Ohio. District Governor Micheal Gibbs explained, “The contest is open to all 11 to 13 year olds at sponsored schools, and is designed to see their artistic vision of peace in the world. Congratulations to Andrea Prenger for being the district winner and to the Troy Lions Club for sponsoring the contest in her school.” Prenger received recognition from the Lions district and a financial prize from the Troy Club. Her poster now goes on to the next level of competition at the Lions State convention. The State winner will move on to the International Convention held this year in Fukuoka, Japan. Troy Lion Joe Jackson, acted as Peace Poster Chairman for the local club. “It is wonderful to see the talent of our young people. Andre’s poster was simply beautiful,” he said.

The Troy Lions Club is a non-profit community service organization serving Troy, Covington, Pleasant Hill, Piqua, Tipp City, and surrounding areas of Miami County since 1942.
