At the August 1, 2016 meeting of the Staunton Township Trustees, the trustees approved a resolution to participate in the Miami County Tire Recycling Day on Wednesday September 7, 2016 at the Miami County Fairgrounds.

In addition, Trustee Jeff Cron reported that he has been working with Grant Garber from the Miami County Prosecutor's Office to determine the status of the property taxes that the township is owed resulting from approximately 39 acres annexed by the City of Troy. They have contacted the City of Troy Auditors but have not received any additional information on the tax status. Cron will continue to follow up on the issue.

Trustee Levi Long reported that he verified the condition of all of the road signs in the township, which includes stop signs, curve signs and stop ahead signs. He checked for reflectivity as well as damage to the signs. He reported that all the signs are in good condition with the exception of a stop ahead sign on Polecat. He will provide a report to the County Engineer's Office on the sign that needs replaced. The trustees accepted the report to be included in the meeting minutes and township files.

In addition, the trustees received an estimate for a 16 x 32 foot addition to the township building from Tad Downey. Additional parties who are interested in placing a bid on the project can contact the township office.

The next meeting of the Staunton Township Trustees is scheduled for August 15, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. in the township building.
