Sunday afternoon, every girls’ basketball team in Ohio found out the path they have to take in order to advance to the state tournament, held in March at The Ohio State University.

In the local coverage area, Tippecanoe was named the number one seed in the Tecumseh Division Two sectionals, while Tecumseh was voted as a #5 seed in the Division Two sectionals.

Tecumseh (18-3) will open their tournament play on Saturday, February 13 at 2 p.m. against Xenia (5-15), a team that the Arrows dominated earlier in the season.

Should the Arrows gain victory, they will return to action February 16 against the winner of Fairmont and Northmont. Also earlier this season, Tecumseh had no trouble with Northmont.

The sectional finals, likely against Beavercreek, would take place on Feb. 19 at 6 p.m. All of Tecumseh’s sectional games will be held at Troy High School.

The Red Devils (15-4), who easily gained the top seed in D2, will open their tournament, opens their quest for the state on February 13 at 6 p.m. against 2-19 Greenon at Tecumseh High School. The winner of that game will return on February 17 in another 6 p.m. game against Greenville, who is also 2-18 on the season.

The winner of that game advances to the sectional finals set for February 20 at 1:30 likely against #2 seed Carroll.

Troy (9-10) took a bye in their opening round of the sectionals, and plays February 16 in the second round against the winner of Beavercreek and Fairborn. The game is scheduled to be played at Troy High School, but the site will be moved due to teams being unable to play sectional tournament games on their home floor.

Northwestern opens their Division Three sectional play on February 13 at 5 p.m. against Dixie, with all of Northwestern’s games being held at Franklin Monroe High School out in Darke County. The Warriors will play Arcanum if they advance past the opening game, with that set for February 16 at 7:30 p.m. Should they advance to the sectional finals, it is set for Feb. 20 at 12:30 p.m.

Also in Division Three, Bethel was seeded #14 and drew a bye in their opener, coming back to play in round two against the winner of Preble Shawnee and #4 Miami East on February 17 at 7:30 p.m. at Tippecanoe High School. A win sends into the finals on February 20.

Finally in Division Four, Troy Christian was seeded #7 despite only having four losses, and will open their tournament on February 13 at 2:30 p.m. against #2 Jackson Center at Sidney High School. The winner advances to the second round on February 16 at 7:30 p.m.
